Yep, big word for the day and means a word that sounds like itself. (Basically.) Examples include, bang, pow, tick, oink, meow, clack and lots more.

Hello, Jean! I love the word onomatopoeia! I always try to use it while playing scrabble if I have a lot of vowels, but so far I've had no luck, LoL.

Lovely post; reminds me of my first desk as a teen. That made me feel so awesome and newly inspired to write stories and poems (which were pretty bad unfortunately).
