What's your priority?

"I write when I'm inspired, and I see to it that I'm inspired at nine o'clock every morning."
Peter DeVries

What about you?  Do you wait until you're "in the mood" or do you have a set time or schedule when you write whether you feel like it or not.

I read another quote not long ago, and though I didn't save it, the same sentiment was there, that we need to make it a priority, not just something we do when we find the time.

So, I challenge each of you...

Make your writing a priority.  If you don't have a set time and place, then establish a routine that allows you to write all the wonderful things you have inside just waiting to get out.

I'd write more often if I had "wonderful things you have inside just waiting to get out".

I'm still wrestling with a dirth of ideas - or ideas that stay interesting. Lately, if I get ideas at all, they start to smell like old fish after a couple of day.

That said, I am absolutely horrible at self scheduling. I'm a homemaker with grown kids and a hubby who is often away from home for a week at a time, so I have few external time regulators. I have time to write most every day if I make myself do it.

Sandra,

You have them and they are waiting to get out. You just let the shoulder vultures color your view of them.

Seriously...give those vultures a good plucking and get to writing.
